iphone 5c

Iphone 5c
The media language used to present the iphone 5c was langue suitable for everyone to understand, there is no media jargon or any real phone jargon, this enables everyone to understand the key concepts of the phone and how it works.
The genre of the presentation is persuasive and an advert, also the representation of the advert is a positive representation, as Apple are trying to sell something.
Apple have also used semiotics to try and sell the iphone 5c as they have used the myth that apple phones look the best and work the best. This inclines people that are watching it to believe it which inturn will lead to more sales.
The audience the iphone 5c is targeted to is people who like colour, such as the Chinese.
By having an American man and an English man talking in the advert show the diverse nature of apple and the iphone, this inclines British people to buy the product as much as Americans and Chinese.
The purpose of the advert was to persuade people to by the iphone, this is shown in the persuasive language the use throughout the advert.

The mise-en-scene in the advert also helped sell the iphone as the blank white screen shows that nothing else is import apart from the phone.

Trailer Analysis

For my trailer analysis I analysed "Why did I get married too," which is a romantic comedy about group of friends and their wives. going on a holiday. As usual there is conflict between all of the respective men and women, due to secrets coming out which overshadows the time they had. The two main couples get divorced which splits up the whole group, all the families resolve the issues except for the divorced two, and the man gets killed in a car crash.

The Key conventions are:-
1. Awkward moments
2.Love and hate

Film Noir

Film Noir is a type of genre from the Hollywood scene which normally involves crime, detectives and sexual activities. It originates from German cinema and came to America in the time of the great depression (1929). “Film Noir” is French for “Black film.” It first came to Hollywood via a French critic called Nino Frank. But the name film noir was not really established so the early film noir was called “melodramas.”

There are a lot of plots in the film noir genre, such as plain clothed policeman or even an aging boxer. Film noir was originally associated with American productions; films now have been made around the world.

In this image there is back lighting as you can only see a silhouette, this adds to the mystery of the image as you do not see any faces. Also the low key lighting produces a contrast between the light at the front and their outline. This means only a key light and back light are used as there is a dramatic contrast.

Hillsborough and Hall's theory

The dominant meaning of this article is that hillsborough was the polices fault, this is shown in the tittle "the real truth" also the bullet point that says "cop smeared Liverpool fans to deflect the blame" this shows that the police put the blame on the Liverpool fans when it was actually their fault.

The negotiated meaning is that police could have helped the Liverpool fans that died, but the Liverpool fans could have helped themselves by not getting into that situation in the first place as it has resulted in the death of 96 people.

The oppositional meaning is that it was the fans fault for the death of those 96 people and the police were just trying to do their job, the fans should have behaved in an adult enough manner and not bundled.

Halls theory of encoding and decoding
In essence, halls theory is a theory that looks at the way the media portray different things and how we, the consumers interpret it.He says that TV and other mediums audiences are presented with messages that are decoded, or interpreted in different ways depending on where a person is from, how rich they are, and their personal experiences.

The joker

In this still image of "the joker", the costume is very important, the purple blazer suit and green waistcoat show how quirky he looks. This contributes to evilness. The make up of the joker is so bad, it looks good, the out of line lipstick and wrinkled face paint also help depict the picture of how much of a villain he is.
Also his facial expression highlights his evilness as he is not smiling but the lipstick on his face makes it look like he is. The picture is quite a dark picture but there is a glimmer of light surrounding the joker. The setting is quite a dark setting highlighting the type of person the joker is.

All in for D ROSE

The colour of the setting is quite dull, maybe to show that hard work isn't pretty
The picture of Derrick Rose is a picture of him pushing himself to the limit is not directly in the middle of the page as the words "all in for d rose" has as much meaning as the picture.
The size of the text is quite big because it needs to be noticed as there is no Adidas sign or logo, also the writing is in red symbolizing passion, and Derrick Rose himself accentuates that by the type of person he is.
This shot is a close shot which adds affect as you can see the pain his is enduring and as a result of it being a close up, you can see the sweat which also adds to the passion of d rose.  The photo was taken indoors which makes basketball fans think he is training in the gym and working hard. Also his eyes are closed so it looks like he isn't looking at the camera, this shows that he is in full flow and doesn't care about anything apart from winning.

Why I chose AS Media

I believe AS media is the right choice for me, simply because of what I am looking to do in the future. I want to go into uni and study something to do with sport science; whether that is sports science and coaching, business or media. The media industry is an industry that generates money whatever predicament the world is in. And no, I am not saying its all about money, but there is always a financial aspect to a job and media is no different. Looking at Sky Sports and BBC Sport showed me that media in sport is a job that looks enjoyable and comes with lots of perks. For me, being one of the first to tell the world something seems unimaginable because you are the person that carries joy or despair in one news story. I hope one day I can actually be the first one to tell you, a certain player has moved to a certain club for a world record fee of £250m or be the first person to tell you, the first black prime minister  has been appointed at number 10 Downing Street. For me that would be a dream come true.

What I want to learn from Media, is how to not not fall for the stereotypical stories and the propaganda shown in different media. I also want to learn how to scrutinize a film or a piece of media to see whether I could do a better job.
